About Naylor Brothers Restorations
MG TD 1951 before Restoration and after Restoration by Naylor Brothers
The History 40 Years of Classic Car Restorations Naylor Brothers, as a company, was founded in 1966 by Alastair and David Naylor. Our objective was to become the leading car restorer and supplier of spare parts for the 'T' Series MG throughout the world. David (left) and Alastair with the MG J2 that started it all. David subsequently left the business in 1972 to pursue a successful career in the Accountancy profession.
He still owns the acclaimed 1932 MG J2 upon which the firm was founded. Added to his stable in the latter years was an L2 MG Magna, hence David still retains his interest in the pre war MGs. Alastair has remained at the helm as sole proprietor and driven the business forward for what now is four decades. Within this time scale there have been many changes and diversification's of the business.
Naylor Brothers were the first British company to become British Motor Heritage approved in the UK for pre war and T Series MGs. Alastair Naylor was the pioneer and creator of the Naylor TF 1700, a fully type approved sports car launched in 1984. In 1986, in order to offer our renown to the later Midget and MGB sports cars, a separate spares company was formed to be named Naylor Brothers MG Parts. In order to distinguish the two businesses, the original Naylor Brothers added Restorations to its title. The former, of which Alastair was initially chairman, was subsequently to become a branch of Moss Europe Ltd.
In 1989 Alastair resigned from the board relinquishing his financial interest to concentrate on his core business - the restoration of the MG T Series. The business of Chassis Build Limited was acquired in 1991, formerly the original Chassis Repair Division of Rubery Owen. The two businesses complemented each other admirably. Alastair is owner of both businesses and has no connection or association with any other classic specialists under the Naylor or Moss name. Naylor Brothers Restorations has a name which is second to none and synonymous with MG.
We are world renowned for our service and quality; our restorations speak for themselves. We are also respected specialists for the Austin Healey marque. If it is service and quality you require, Naylor Brothers Restorations is the company for you.
